Project Life Friday

Good morning all, I hope you are well! Welcome back to PL Friday. Thhis week I am showing you week 10 of 2016. Im using the Project Life it from HKC, I believe February? Most of my weeks just include random things from our week. Atrip to Huck Finn looking at furniture and beds, basement progress, me sick for a week (as it turns out, with the flu!), a trip to Batrnes aand Noble (swoon!), and the girls at their favorite spot, K1 Speedway! So, here we go, the spread as a whole. I alson include the girls STAT sheets from K1, but I didnt show that.

This is a close up of the left side of the sparead. Which for me is typiclaly Mon-Wed. I'm sure my girls will be thrilled I am showing the top pic! On non school days they stay up late watching movies and just crash. Sally liked the added company I see! With this new deisgn size, Iam free to add the cute little pics from Facebook that I find or that people tag me in, a definete perk for me.

Right side, me at the dr, my sweet scaredy fosters B&N purchases and the girls. Pretty basic, but I like it. I backed the wood veneer pieces with pattern paper to make it pop more on the pictures. The goodies from thses Hip Kits go on forever, Ive done so many pages and still I have alot left!

That is all peeps, I hope you found some inspiration in what youve seen here. Come back later for my post on what the challenges are I will be doing this weeend. Also stop back Sunday for the challenge reveals. Thanks again for stopping by.

Take from your Stash Tuesday

Good morning all! This is the first in the weekly "Take from your Stash Tuesday" series. Im sure Im not alone when I say that I have ALOT of supplies, but it doesnt stop me from hitting the "purchase" button at Scrapbook.com or adding more to my my many kit clubs, Hip Kit ClubScraptastic, The Scrappery or Citrus Twist! So after watching a few youtube videos from Adele of Inkie Quill, I knew I needed to impliment something similar of my own. Her consists of 5 items from your stash, I just decided I would pull as many as I wanted to use from my stash, not my brandie new kits, or fresh purchases!

As you can see I chose Amy Tan fabric stickers, Pink Fresh foam words (yes they are fairly new, but I ended up with 2 sets), a piece of  Summer Sun patterned paper from Fancy Pants, some old Martha Stewart felt numbers, a tag sheet I got from the Freckled Fawn grab bag sale, a teal doily, and because they were the only 2 things from the collection, the Summer Sun paper pieces. When I opened the paper pieces and saw the little square cards, I knew what I  had to do! I am a sucker for a grid pattern. I also ended up adding some October Afternoon alphas, some enamel dots, and of course some Mr Heuy's color mist. Im really happy with how it turned out, very bright and cheery. It fit the mood of the picture perfectly, a beautiful sunny day in SC. (We spent 7 days there, so there will be many pics scrapped from that week!)

So that wraps up my first Tuesday post. I'd love to hear what you think. Anything you'd like to see me use, I probably have it or something very similar! Thanks for stopping by. Check back tomorrow for Weekly Layout Wednesday.

Hip Kit Club- Kill A Kit part 4

This is the last post in this series. I had a great time doing it. I managed to complete 14 single page layouts and a Project Life spread, which included 3 inserts. I have to tell you, there is still quite a bit left, that picture will be at the end.  These last 2 pages were pretty inventive I think.  The first is using the Dear Lizzy alpha. It was a bit too busy for me, so I knew I wouldn't use it. I stuck all the letters on the top of a piece of white cardstock, and brushed white gesso on them. I repeated that 3 times to make sure it covered. I then took some Heidi Swapp color shine spritzed it on a piece of plastic packaging and whipped it on the letters. I then bordered the bottom of the letters with a piece of washi from my stash. I also pulled a piece of vellum, some rhinestone stars, enamel dots, and a doily from my stash to complete the page. I love how it turned out!

For this last page, I tool the remaining stickers from the Amy Tan pad and used it as a background. I made sure I used ones that would allow for journaling and would fit the picture. I added a piece of vellum from my stash. I think this one turned out well also!

Now for the Project Life layout. I used the Project Life cards from the kit, as well as some of the different alphas, foam stickers, wood veneer, chipboard stickers, the mirrors sticker

Here we have the right size. I decided to showcase my epic scrapbook success! I have never created so many layouts in such a small amount of time! 4 days, I did 14 layouts in 4 days, and still went to 2 concerts, and a birthday party!

This is the front side of the first insert. Me, my daughter and my mother all went for our first tattoos.  It was a moment definetly important to document. It was a very symbolic tattoo for all of us. For the inserts I made a title card of sorts using the teal glitter alpha.

Now we have the back side of the first insert and the front side of the second insert. We went to see STYX for the second time. It's nice that the girls enjoy the same kind of music as Steve and I. The right side is my nieces first birthday party. Again you will see the title card with the teal alpha.

This last insert page is my daughters college concert. Yet another title card. I like that it gave the inserts a feel of unison.

Here is the week as a whole without the inserts in the way.

Now, if you can believe it, after all those pages with all those goodies, this is what I STILL have left! I am absolutely amazed, but my new kits are here, so the remains of last months kit will have to wait for a while. So, is this something you would like to see more of? Did you like what you saw? Thanks again for checking them out. I now need to focus on my final page for the Hip Kit Design Team member submission. Wish me luck!

The Art of Napping

Can you believe it, a scrapbook page and its a double post today. Wow, I'm on a roll! I couldn't resist doing this layout. I have been feeling inspired by some many beautiful layouts on the web. I don't want to start scrapbooking albums again, but I think I will start doing single page layouts and hang them in frames up my staircase. I can change them out as often or as little as I want. I do have one hanging in my craft room that I change out every now and again. So here it is.

I used Stampin Up! cardstock, October Afternoon alphas, spray ink, and card from one of their miscellany sets, Amy Tangerine stamp, Elle's Studio tag, and Basic Greys Joann exclusive lines "Hey You!" Hope you liked it.

Project Life Week 17

Good morning all! Yes I have realized I skipped week 16. I have yet to put together the "events" pieces that belong in that week. So, rather than hold up what I can post here we are, week 17! For this week I used a set by Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper, which I received in my Citrus Twist kit. I think Crate Paper may have moved up to number one on my love list now! I just love all the colors in this line. Much of what went with it was sold out on Two Peas (my favorite place to shop!!!!)

Its funny, when I saw the new Project Life kits being advertised, I was totally committed to the Jade line as my number 1, and then Blush. I got both sets through HSN during their sale, and I think the Blush is my go-to grab for journal cards quite a bit. I used quite a few this week. I did use one from the Clementine line as well. I used washi, tab stickers, alphas, and tid-bits from October Afternoon, alphas from Lily Bee, an arrow from Studio Calico, labels from My Minds Eye (not sure for what line) and a stamp set from my Citrus Twist PL kit. Also, I always rummage the dollar bins at Target and they had pads of paper with list and to dos on them. I cut the one pad up so they were 4 sets of 3x4 cards, "To Buy", "To Do", "To Remember", and "To Call".

I have 2 inserts for this week, one covers an outing with the girls for summer clothes, and the other our first fire of the year. I also included Megans choir program, and a letter we received from the girls pediatrician telling us she is retiring. I include these things in my album whenever they I get things, but I do not photograph them, they are important to our family, but not to the general public!

Thank you again for stopping by, and if you are a newbie, please stop by again. I try to post every Tuesday.

Project Life Week 13

Welcome back! I have week 13 for you today. This was the week of Easter, so I got to break out the pretty colors. I used Echo Park Sweet Girl line, and LOVED it! I bought the extra journal page as well as the stickers for this line as well.

I was so happy with how this week turned out. After a long winter its nice to break out the bright festive colors! I used journal cards from the Project Life  Blush line, as well as grid cards. I used alphas from the Sweet Girl line,  Dear Lizzy puffy alphas from Thickers  and from Basic Grey. The tags were from Elle's Studio, Chic Tags and October Afternoon.

I had one insert and it was for Easter. We had none of they young siblings for Easter, so there was no egg hunt. Pretty basic day really, very relaxed.

Well, that's it. I have week 14 done as well so I will be posting that soon. That was a very big week with lots of inserts due to it being Spring Break for the girls. Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you again.

Project Life Week 12

Hello everyone, it has been a while! I finally completed a very big week of Project Life. Megan had her school play at the end of this week, so the week before is always hectic. Hopefully you are not totally bored by all the "Hello Dolly" talk.   The first is a pic of the full week without any inserts in it. Next will be of each side individually.

For this week I used DIY from Crate Paper. The vintage feel just seemed fitting for the week. For the alphas I used Basic Grey, Oh Snap,  Pebbles, and Echo Park. I used journal cards from Project Life ( including the new Jade line- HSN), and one from the Studio Calico Project Life kit. I pulled labels from the Crate Paper coordinating sticker sheets as well as from Jillibean and October Afternoon. I added a number from Basic Greys Hey Boy line, and a arrow and chick wood veneer from Studio Calico. My Tim Holtz stapler is always in the list of "used" items as well.

I have many inserts included in this week... memorabilia from the play, 2 of play pics, our church program/thank you letter from the play directors, and Megan's music. This is probably one of my favorite things about Project Life. I have always  been a saver of little mementos, and this really allows me to keep them with the actual moments. I would never want to add them when I was scrapbooking because I felt it took away from the beautiful layout ( I mean, can you believe they don't coordinate the ticket stubs/programs/receipts etc, to match MY scrapbook spreads!)  Well, on with the pics now.

For the journal card on the above insert I will be adding the names of my daughters friends she is in the pictures with. I have learned the hard way not to assume on the spelling of their names! There are many that are not the way I would expect! So they will be added.

I hope you enjoyed this weeks spread, it was so nice to relive the fun from the week. See you again soon, I week 13 almost completed, and the future weeks are also in full progress.

Project Life Week 10

Hello everyone! As some of you may know, I mentioned I needed to skip week 10 because I needed pics from someone else. I decided to show the week and the front of the insert and not worry about the back of the insert. For this week I used Pebbles Walnut Grove collection. I loved working with this line, the colors were so vibrant!

As always you will find some form of Thickers in my layouts, as well as an October Afternoon label or two. I also used the label paper from October Afternoons Farm Girl line, Martha Stewart labels, an arrow sticker and veneer stars from Studio Calico and Tiny Tim. I also purchased the sticker sheet and washi sheet to go with the Walnut Grove line. I also used some journal cards from a Pebbles journal stack.

Here are a couple close ups.

This is the front side to the insert, the back is still waiting for pics.

Enjoy, I am almost done with week 12, will post soon. Its a big week, lots of inserts for the Hello Dolly play my daughter was in. Come back again.

Project Life Week 11

Hello all! I'm back with another week of Project Life in the books. I am skipping week 10 for now, I'm waiting on a couple pics to finish. I will post it as soon as it is complete. I just finished week 11, so that I will show instead. For week 11, I used greens for St Patty's Day. I love how it turned out. The papers I used were just a clearance Basic Grey set from AC Moore called Origins. It worked out that even my "Pi Day" shirt (that I forgot to wear) was green.

For this week I used a mixture of the Origins line, as well as anything else green I could come across! Green labels from October Afternoon and Martha Stewart, green tags from Chic Tags, green washi, one of which is October Afternoon, a small green baggie, green alpha from Thickers, a green 4x6 card from my new Studio Calico Project Life kit, you get the point! I also used some non-green items, like alphas from Lily Bee, Jillibean Soup, and Basic Grey.

I had one two inserts this week. One is of St. Patty's Day, and the second is a paper from Hannah's school, that I wont show. I included the tags from the silly hats and necklaces I got the kids, the front of our napkin, and the grocery receipt.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed what you saw and got some ideas.

Project Life Week 9

I am so in love with the Pebbles lines! This week I used Seen and Noted. I love how it all turned out! I'm getting alittle nervous though, I need to get the rest of March and all of Arpil in the first album if I have any hope of keeping it to 3 again this year. I realistically can not get it to 2. It would be nice, but I am not willing to cut back any more to get it that way. I only had 1 insert for this week, and it was my daughter final play schedule, so I wont bother showing it.

It was a mixed week, my daughter and her boyfriend celebrated their 1 year anniversary, and Steve and I lost a long time friend suddenly. Mostly the overall week was pretty blah, the girls and I tried to keep Steve busy. Like I said, I used Pebbles Seen and Noted line this week. I had the paper, the sticker sheet, the journal cards, and the prompt cards for it, I also used some Elle's Studio tags, Martha Stewart label stickers, a Project Life title card, Fancy Pants, Making Memories, Basic Grey and Oh Snap! alphas, I cut a label from the October Afternoon Farm Girl paper, and of course used my Tiny Tim stapler!

Here are some close ups of some journal cards.

I have most of my week 10 done, waiting on some pictures for the insert and a couple others, and I am completely done with week 11. I may end up posting them out of order. Thanks for taking a look and for your comments, its nice to hear
