Using PL in your Scrapbook Pages Thursday

Good morning all! Im here with my first installment of Using Project Life in your Scrapbook Pages. I have many many Project Life cards. Some are actual core kits, but others are just leftovers from past kit clubs that I havent used all of. Well, it is time to use them up, lets make room for the new kit club goodies! Let me start by saying, I was a kitten foster for a year, not so much at the moment, but there are alot of kitten pics I will be scrapbooking! Its a very big part of our lives her is the Combs household. We have kept some of our fosters, as well as having some already! Mavis is one special kitty, she gets alot of layouts! The cards I used for this layout are from an old Gossamer Blue Project Life Kit Club. I  added chipboard stickers from the Dear Lizzy Fine and Dandy collection, a flair button from I'm not sure where (they all go in a dish if not for a kit club), a doily, Studio Calico vellum alpha stickers, the foam glitter word from Pink Paislee's Citrus Twist collection, and Mr Huey's black color mist. The background patterned paper is from the Crate Paper Kiss Kiss collection.

So thats it for now, join me again next Thurday for another installment of Usinng Project Life in your Scrapbook Pages. Love to hear your comments or suggestions.  Does anyone have a favorite layout for using Project Life cards? id love to see your take on this sketch or others using your PL cards.

Project Life Week 17

Good morning all! Yes I have realized I skipped week 16. I have yet to put together the "events" pieces that belong in that week. So, rather than hold up what I can post here we are, week 17! For this week I used a set by Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper, which I received in my Citrus Twist kit. I think Crate Paper may have moved up to number one on my love list now! I just love all the colors in this line. Much of what went with it was sold out on Two Peas (my favorite place to shop!!!!)

Its funny, when I saw the new Project Life kits being advertised, I was totally committed to the Jade line as my number 1, and then Blush. I got both sets through HSN during their sale, and I think the Blush is my go-to grab for journal cards quite a bit. I used quite a few this week. I did use one from the Clementine line as well. I used washi, tab stickers, alphas, and tid-bits from October Afternoon, alphas from Lily Bee, an arrow from Studio Calico, labels from My Minds Eye (not sure for what line) and a stamp set from my Citrus Twist PL kit. Also, I always rummage the dollar bins at Target and they had pads of paper with list and to dos on them. I cut the one pad up so they were 4 sets of 3x4 cards, "To Buy", "To Do", "To Remember", and "To Call".

I have 2 inserts for this week, one covers an outing with the girls for summer clothes, and the other our first fire of the year. I also included Megans choir program, and a letter we received from the girls pediatrician telling us she is retiring. I include these things in my album whenever they I get things, but I do not photograph them, they are important to our family, but not to the general public!

Thank you again for stopping by, and if you are a newbie, please stop by again. I try to post every Tuesday.

Project Life Week 12

Hello everyone, it has been a while! I finally completed a very big week of Project Life. Megan had her school play at the end of this week, so the week before is always hectic. Hopefully you are not totally bored by all the "Hello Dolly" talk.   The first is a pic of the full week without any inserts in it. Next will be of each side individually.

For this week I used DIY from Crate Paper. The vintage feel just seemed fitting for the week. For the alphas I used Basic Grey, Oh Snap,  Pebbles, and Echo Park. I used journal cards from Project Life ( including the new Jade line- HSN), and one from the Studio Calico Project Life kit. I pulled labels from the Crate Paper coordinating sticker sheets as well as from Jillibean and October Afternoon. I added a number from Basic Greys Hey Boy line, and a arrow and chick wood veneer from Studio Calico. My Tim Holtz stapler is always in the list of "used" items as well.

I have many inserts included in this week... memorabilia from the play, 2 of play pics, our church program/thank you letter from the play directors, and Megan's music. This is probably one of my favorite things about Project Life. I have always  been a saver of little mementos, and this really allows me to keep them with the actual moments. I would never want to add them when I was scrapbooking because I felt it took away from the beautiful layout ( I mean, can you believe they don't coordinate the ticket stubs/programs/receipts etc, to match MY scrapbook spreads!)  Well, on with the pics now.

For the journal card on the above insert I will be adding the names of my daughters friends she is in the pictures with. I have learned the hard way not to assume on the spelling of their names! There are many that are not the way I would expect! So they will be added.

I hope you enjoyed this weeks spread, it was so nice to relive the fun from the week. See you again soon, I week 13 almost completed, and the future weeks are also in full progress.

Project Life Week 7

This was a fun week! Valentine's Day week. As per my dear friends suggestion, I am keeping track of my michievous kitty Chance. If I had started from his arrival into our home his numbers would be extremely higher! December alone would have put him over the top!. Other than Valentine's Day itself there was not alot going on, just everyday stuff. That's what I love about Project Life, I would have never made a scrapbook page about my excitement in seeing my daffodils starting to pop up, but now I can share things like this. For this weeks spread I used "Fourteen" by Crate Paper. I also have 2 inserts to share this week.

I used mostly "fourteen" for this spread, I was ecen able to use the back side of the cut up card sheet for journaling since it had the grid design on the back. I included things like label stickers from Jillibean Soup and Martha Stewart, journal cards from Project Life Clementine kit, tags from Elle's Studio, alphas from October Afternoon and Basic Grey, tabs and stickers from October Afternoon and Basic Grey. My friend made me a beautiful 3x4 card that I added a vellum arrow to so it pointed to the hubby and I, which was from the "true love" line by Basic Grey. The heart sticker came in my Studio Calico kit.

The inserts are just of Valentine's Day. I found the straws with lips in the dollar bin at Target and had to have them, so fun! And Steve even participated in our picture silliness. I used Design J, and Design C cut in half. Sorry the pics are dark. Its dark and rainy here, but I wanted to get them posted. I will be featured in www.michellebostinelos.com/blog blog hop on Saturday so check it out. Maybe I can even get another week finished to post by then.

Project Life Week 4

Well, here we are week 4. This week was alot of running around and errands. I love this set from Crate Paper.

For this week I used Crate Paper On Trend. Oh my, it is a beautiful line. I used the paper, chipboard, phrase and border stickers, and alphas. I also used October Afternoon, Basic Grey, and Lily Bees alphas, Project Life journal cards, Studio Calico scrap pads (tan arrow), and Kelly Purkeys stamp set. Here is a close up of the left and right sides.

This week I have 1 insert. Steve and I got Megan tickets to see Jeff Dunham for Christmas. The insert is strictly that event. I love that I can include tickets and clothing tags with my pics, that is one of the things I love so much about Project Life! I have always been a saver of tags, labels, stickers, business cards, used gift cards, appt cards, you name it!
